I was chatting with a feminist the other day about this, she was aghast at the anti-science lingo getting tossed around-she explained to me that she figured it was a distorted permutation of legitimate questions about how science is used. Science can be directed to assist in perpetuating cultural ideals at the expense of others. It's not the method that has flaws (the scientific method is beautiful, elegant, and self-correcting, a knowledge-gathering tool that has yet to be superceded), but the people-if a scientist's discoveries are used to make technologies that reflect an element of the culture you don't like, I could see it being pretty obnoxious.

I'm not expert though, I like most of you am a man.

I'm for legal equality, but clearly differences exist.

If the "dominant science system" is entirely misogynistic, then she is implying that its parts aren't as well. You can't have modern science without the scientific method, nor can you have modern science without some pretty sophisticated math concepts.

It's so cute that ecofeminists actually think the philosophy of science still predominantly rests so simply on reductionism and logical positivism - here views might have been eye opening... 150 years ago.

The historic equity feminists are something to be admired in my opinion, but the academic postmodern feminists of today are so trite and meaningless, constantly dealing with philosophical issues that were solved 30 or more years ago and then strapping a pretty new 'feminists' bow on top and delivering it as something novel. Seriously, we've known for a long time the the combination of science with industry has very severe negative consequences that are worthy of criticism. This is nothing even remotely new. Feminists philosophy is more or less just plagiarism.
