Honest question, no racism intended (best way ever to start off a post)

If European ancestors interbred with Neanderthals & any related subspecies, and Africans didnt due to there being no Neanderthals in Africa, would this make Europeans (I know nothing about Asians) genetically different to Africans in more than just the superficial adaptations? (lack of melanin in skin, lighter eyes for snow, etc). If so, in what ways would they be different?

Camouflaged intelligence piss contest.

>> No.4691203

seriously? Im the ONLY one wondering about this? There MUST be genetic differences if theres a lack of interbreeding, but Im not a biologist. Is there noone with knowledge on this?

not really, and you just gave away your bias there.

You just described every single thread on /sci/.

I didn't "gave away" my "bias" i blatantly shoved it in your face.

And yes noggars are on average less intelligent.

awesome. now does that have a genetic part to play because of neanderthal interbreeding or not? ffs im not trying to turn this into an anti noggar thing, i just want to know if neanderthal genes have any effect on modern day europeans

I don't know how much the nean genes affected intelligence/personality, but certainly living outside of africa forced some forethought/planning for winter/scarce food into a slightly more advanced brain.

There are genetic differences among human populations that have been caused by geographical influences.

We don't have to be geneticists to see the plethora of examples through groups with predominant skin color, eye color, hair color, immunities, vulnerabilities to specific genetically caused diseases, etc.

One of my favorite examples is Iceland.

Dogs can interbreed, some race(breed) of dogs are faster, some race of dogs are stronger and some race of dogs are smarter.

--Yeah we already know that so what?

Humans can interbreed, some race(breed) of humans are faster, some race of humans are stronger and some race of humans are smarter.

--You damn racist bigot!!!

Ah true, hadn't thought of that. Survival of the fittest regardless then. I know that nean genes count for anything up to 4% of our genome (whereas in africa its 0), so was just curious to see what the differences were. Personality traits would be quite interesting, but I doubt there would ever be such a study until people stopped being butthurt about race.

>>4691268
nice pic, any idea what the branching events originate from? First one is obviously people leaving africa, but after that...

Grow up, saying someones different isnt being racist. Africans are slightly different from Europeans, end of. I was wondering how much, if any, of the difference was attributed to neanderthal intermixing, and if it had any implications beyond external differences.

It looks like an artifact from sampling at specific geographic locations. This points out the "flaw" of science. You only get what you are looking for.

It doesn't make Yuros more different from Afros than the Yuros and the 'Thalians were already before the intermixing happened. I guess the 'Thalians were anyway more similar to the Afros than to the Yuros.
