The amount of stars in this picture.
The amount of matter in each of these stars.

What the actual FUCK is the universe?

Dark matter is five times more abundant than your typical idea of matter.

It's just a bunch of shit laid about.

it seems intimidating because you are small

if you were the size of a nebula it would seem like much less.

but you're not, you're one person. your'e on one planet, out of billions of billions in one galaxy, out of billions of billions of galaxies.
you're tiny.

the universe, is not.

but just as you grew from a child into an adult, humanity will grow from this planet into the stars.

and then it will seem less frightening

Scale of the universe is comprehensible, not to us yet but yes.
But, can the scale of physical reality be conceived of?

No.
~300 billion stars in the Galaxy. A few million planets per star may be asking a bit much. Especial since many stars cannot support planets.
>80 billion galaxies. Would be hard for this estimate to be wrong by so much.
