So /sci/, I'm a Mech E. trying to decide what calculus sequence I should take in college. I'm vaguely considering a minor in mathematics.

I've taken Calc AB and was planning to take Calc II at a local university over the summer. If I take the regular calculus sequence, I can take calc III and IV in my freshman year and be done. However, if I still want a minor in math, I would also have to take linear algebra.

The other option is to forgo the summer class and take the honors calculus sequence for four semesters. The honors courses are worth 5 credits each, and cover linear algebra in the curriculum. After that, I would only need two more math courses for a final.

The third option is to start freshman year enrolled in honors Calc III, but that would mean I have to be proficient in proof-writing by the end of the summer, with my only background being a high school class and a 6 week crash course in calc II.

What do you guys think is my best bet?
