I found a post about black holes and I'm asking myself something: as one of the major problems is the existence if singularities, what about the use of non-standard analysis? I mean NSA can account for infinitely small quantities, etc. Is it actually already used in astrophysics? If not, is it impossible to use it?

The problem is that physics requires observations of some sort, not just musings of mathematics.

And the problem thereafter is that you cannot observe naked singularities. Probably.

yup I understand... But I thought the major issue wad to overcome the theoretical problems first. I don't know what I'm talking about so don't actually mind me!
