I'm majoring in physics, and I think I just failed my Calculus II final yesterday.
How fucked for life am I? I feel pretty fucked for life.

Dumping my /sci/ folder while I weep and yearn for a swift death.

how badly did you fail?

did you study hard at it?

The worst part is that I can't stop obsessing over this one integration problem I could have easily solved using substitution. I attempted to solve it by converting it into a Taylor series, and then ran out of time.

I have no idea. I feel like I must have gotten less than 50 percent, but I know the professor uses a modified curve for grading purposes; so there's a remote possibility that, if everyone else bombed the test too, I might have actually done comparatively well. It's a hope against hope that I'm not willing to depend on.

>did you study hard at it?

The professor keeps PDF versions of his past final exams on his university profile page. I studied the final exam from last year extensively; if I had been given *that* final, or one similar to it, I would have aced the fucking thing. But it was totally different this year. Different focuses, different approaches, everything.

you're not too fucked if you came away with at least a basic knowledge of calc 2.

but thats just my opinion. im not sure how much of calc 2 is used in physics but im sure the different ways of integrating are a factor somewhere along the line.

North Dakota state, in Fargo. My heart's desire is to go to the university of Minneapolis one day. Right now I don't foresee any of my dreams coming true.

Just give up.

As a side note. Can you post that integration problem

I kind of feel your pain OP. I was taking a math subject this semester that was meant to be a pre-requisite for maths in high school, we have different levels of maths here and I took the lowest, you need a certain level to do a science degree.

There are three weeks to go and I had to accept that I won't pass the exam due to lack of effort and interest. I wanted to study environment/earth science, now I won't be able to. I just have no idea what's going on in the class and failed the midsemester test
