mfw I've given up on trying to get B's in anything important

I stopped trying to get anything above Cs in Physics and Math freshman year as a chem E major.

I sure am glad I don't go to university in America.

I'm in America, and most science/math profs here will bump your total grade to what you get on the final if you do a lot better on the final then the rest of the semester, if the final is cumulative.

seriously, if all you're capable of is a C, well, we need mediocre engineers. but saying you "stopped trying" makes you a worthless apathetic faggot.

I've never been able to justify the leap from average effort to maximum effort. I feel like there's no point pouring my whole being into competition when I know there will always be someone above me. It seems like everyone I know who is driven by the mindless spirit of competition is incredibly unhappy and uninteresting, and I am afraid to follow them.

How do you take pride in spending such an incredible amount of time in an activity that still isn't going to make you free? I don't get it.
