I recently moved into a new place with an absent idiot roommate. My mom found a hole in the inside of the microwave on the roof where a metal plate is. I asked the roommate and he said that there is no problem with it and he's been using it for a while. He hasn't used it since I moved in and I think not for a while. Is it safe to keep around but not use? The hole is about an inch in diameter.

You do realise microwaves are emitted from mobile phones yea? They are safe enough, no worse than IF

You probably want to replace the microwave.

I had a similar scenario. The microwave worked fine for a while, until it started arcing when you cooked something.
