I went through same, OP. Your student society will probably have a program for students who don't have enough money. They gave me $100/month for the last 4 months of my degree, which totally saved my ass. (Later, when I had a real job, I went and donated twice that back.) If not, you can always go to a bank and ask for a line of credit... if you're going to finish a PhD, you're essentially no risk to them.
