I'd say prejudice is more broadly linked to emotional attachment to an idea. Religion has emotionality in abundance, but so does the stereotypical leftist narrative you see on HuffPo, and when you see cogent moderate right ideals being presented there (and subsequently attacked), you will find that prejudice and low iq are not exclusive to the institutionally religious.
