hello /sci/entists, will not fapping for a month give me an actual confidence boost or is it all bullshit?

If you, like most Americans, subconsciously feel that masturbation is a bad thing, then yes. If you're fine with it, then no.

Masturbation IS a bad thing, not just in murrica.

>> No.4614372

My experience is yes. Masturbating less will make me more outgoing, less sedentary, more agressive.

More confident is yes.

I fap like 4-5 times per week whenever i feel like it.I don't feel masturbation is a bad thing but i do believe that masturbating too much makes you weaker.

How does it feel to waste lots of time with an activity that reduces your chances of reproduction?
You're an evolutionary failure.

Pretty good. My research is going well, I'm in great shape, travel a lot, meet interesting people. Yourself?

I can do none of these things because I spend all my energy masturbating many hours a day.

Depends what you do instead. Most likely the opposite will happen. Emotions, negative or positive, have a feedback loop.

Regular exercise and a balanced diet is the by far the best thing to do. Nothing else comes close. Even a small daily walk will boost your mood for the entire day.

Sounds like withdrawal symptoms. I get that way when I stop drinking tea.

I don't think the masturbation itself is having a negative effect on you, but all the time wasting while you do it is cutting into your productivity. Which in turn might be giving you depressive feelings like you're trying to escape.

Or maybe masturbation and other forms of distraction are a coping mechanism for escaping real life, which may be intimidating to you because you feel inadequate in a competitive environment.

Masturbation for me is like taking a shit. I almost don't even think about it, just close my door and do it. I don't like how I am when I abstain; I tend to become more stressed and my mind can't stop racing. I want to do and say stupid/unwise things. I don't masturbate to get rid of these feelings, just something I've noticed during dry spells.

But if I did abstain, it wouldn't matter, because everyone masturbates despite what they tell you, and it's really not that big of a deal. It doesn't make you weaker, though it probably has an effect on your behavior. If anything, it's more physically demanding than browsing reddit (good for you desktop potatoes), and probably good for your circulation.

If you're not harming someone, or facilitating harm, you can do as you please with your life and no one has the right to tell you otherwise.
