I know h^1 is of the order 1.
......h^2 is of the order 2....
......h^3 is of the order 3....
....etc....

But say I have the "deriviate of h"...
Is this of order 1?

I am trying to truncate an equation, to the lowest order in "h", but how do I handle the derivitives! Or the cross terms that involve derivatives and powers of h???

the derivative would be of order 2...

I know herp is of the order derp.
......hurr is of the order durr....
......herpity is of the order derpity....
....etc....

But say I have the "deriviate of hurrdurrherpderp"...
Is this of order Potato?

the derivative of a polynomial reduces its order by one. Is that what you're asking? Because you worded it stupidly?

No, I am asking what is the order of the "derivitive of h"

derivative with respect to what, and what is h, a variable, a function?

Say, h is a varible. I am supossed to write some equation to first order in h.

This is easy for terms for polynomial terms of h. But I have a tern that is proportional to the derivitive of h with respect to some other varible. So what is the order of this term with respect to h?

Thanks for the halp!

depends on the relationship of that variable with h

if you don't know it, you cannot say
