A lot of people left /sci/ when the troll problem went without notice from the mods.

Even more good contributors left when moot made /diy/ , since they didn't need to listen to "engineering lol, not science"-bs all the time.

I used to be a huge contributor, with many good 100+ post threads consisting of as much as 45% of my posts.

But in time, I saw how threads about science news got maybe five posts amounting to
>neat
>not science
>not practical
>is this where my tax dollars went?
>that's not a telescope, that's my penis

Now I spend maybe half an hour a day here and sometimes don't come here for weeks.

Engineering doesnt involve discovering or thinking up anything new and biology is just memorizing things.

haha fucking owned. so true too

how is biology not science? science is simply organizing knowledge and building upon that knowledge through defined experiments and research. the desire to understand is the root of all science, i don't know why someone browsing a board such as this would be closing themselves off to sciences of a different variety. It really shows that ignorance and close-mindedness do not belong to any one type of people. It's like a musician saying "I hate rap, classical and shoegaze. that shit isn't music." clearly, that guy doesn't actually know what music is all about, just like the ass-hat who keeps popping up in this thread doesn't know what science is really about.
