Been outta school for a year. Finished Chem degree, but wanna get Msc/Phd, but my GPA is B-average..is it possible to get in?

Should I just do a couple extra courses and ass-kiss the profs, and get good marks in order to get some strong recs?

None of my profs remember me and my grades are average...so their letters of rec would be shit I suppose.

You could always get a second bs.

im also a fuck up

want to team up and break bad? no one will hire me and my resume is more a list of redflags than qualifications. jk i don't want to team up. i'll do it on my own.

oh yea, but don't go to grad school unless you're goal is to max out student debt as a fuck you to the man and then flee the country

i also put some thought into that

ya but the world is too connected, and its getting more connected

it's tough to hide even in 3rd world countries now

plus they sell your debt to collection agencies that are international, its a tough racket

Well I know my adviser won't stop bringing up this one guy our department got into grad school with under a 2.5. So it is possible. That being said t\he was a good guy but not a good student, so that lack of knowing your profs may hurt you more than anything else.

Oh and do you have any research experience? Because that would certainly alter your chances.

If it is any consolation I found out last week a b.s. in chem is impossible if I don't want to be a 5 year, and my uni ain't cheap even post scholarships.

Or how about if you want to do research in your field, qualify for higher positions in your field, be more educated, etc?

Don't listen to this guy.

the universities around where i live pay you to go to grad school, you get a TA position and a salary, like 40k a year for masters and more for phd...

so the debt isn't an issue

I don't think I have ever seen/heard of a single chem grad program that doesn't come with a salary.
One of the benefits of going into a physical science is that grad programs pay.

Hell I didn't even know there were grad programs that didn't pay until maybe a year or two ago.

It's possible to get in. Look at shittier/unknown schools.
