Yes, there could have been a person named Jesus at that time.

In my opinion jesus was just someone who was did those miracle healing type things like you see eccentric black people doing, who had his abilities massively embellished.
But who the fuck knows?

One or likely several dudes existed who got popular enough that people started telling stories about them; which ended up getting exaggerated and all mixed up with stories of earlier savior figures as folk tales tend to do. The new testament was these folk tales written down 60 years after the events they described. Jesus was a real person in the way Robin Hood or Dracula are real people.

Jesus was a common name at the time
>Many people shared the name. Christ's given name, commonly Romanized as Yeshua, was quite common in first-century Galilee. (Jesus comes from the transliteration of Yeshua into Greek and then English.)

>Most modern historians agree that Jesus existed and was a Jewish teacher from Galilee in Roman Judaea, who was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified in Jerusalem on the orders of the Roman Prefect, Pontius Pilate, on the charge of sedition against the Roman Empire.
