Hydrochloric acid (36.5 g/mol) is sold as a concentrated aqueous solution. If the molarity of
commercial HCl is 12.0 M and its density is 1.18 g/mL, calculate the molality of the solution.

Apparently the answer is 16.2m
I keep getting 10.2m

12 mol / 1L
1L * (1000mL / 1 L) * (1.18g / 1mL) * (1kg / 1000g) = 1.18 kg

12 mol / 1.18 kg = 10.2m

where did i go wrong?

No homework threads on /sci/. If you can't handle elementary school math, it's time for you to drop out.

All you need is multiplication and addition. If this is too hard for you, you're wrong in university.
