Hello /sci/

What would you recommend for a potential physics major who knows calc and wants to start teaching himself before classes start?

Any good chem, materials science or lasers books are also appreciated.

Any particle physics is over the head of a freshman. Always.

But Griffiths is tight. Super good reference. Halzen and Martin as well.
