Sorry if this sounds stupid, but what's the actual relationship between the speed of light and the rate of time flow? Can one, or does one directly effect the other because of some tangible connection between the two, or do they just have convenient continuity for measuring distance and doing a couple other things, or what's the deal?

Well, in Genesis, it states that God created light on the first day, so using that knowledge, one can make the observation that there is some kind of connection between time and the speed in which it took god to create light, 24 hours.
