Biology question.

When I feel like I'm about to throw up, I press my thumb on a spot on my forehead right between my eyes and it gets better.

Is there any explanation why this works?
And are there more such tricks?

Your brain focuses on the pain on your forehead instead? (dunno how hard you press)

You focus on not throwing up by doing another activity. Works the same way when a girl grabs her other thumb to not throw up when giving deep throat.

Sounds like a withdrawl syndrome.

Drink a lot of caffeine? Perhaps you're around engines?

Not pressing very hard actually. It doesn't hurt.

;)

Never drank caffeine.
And engines? Only my laptop.

uhhh i think there is some sort of foramina located in between the eyes through the nasal bones, it could have something to do with the fact that you're restricting the circulation in this area.

Well, so much for playing House M.D. The only answer I can think of is to do a very risky medical procedure that involves drama in a medical team.

It's called the pain gateway theory.
