Ok /sci/ I have an idea that anyone the least bit educated is a supporter of Marxism. Care to challenge my hypothesis?

Please don't just insult people, if you disagree with me post a brief summary of points you feel marxism fails on, or why capitalism is superior.

I guess Marxism wins, thanks

Isn't this pretty easy to challenge? All we have to do is find someone with a PhD who doesn't support marxism.

your theory is such a ridiculous generalisation that its not worth engaging with.

This. I am pretty well educated, and I know the political affiliations of over 15 people with at least bachelor degrees. None are marxists.

There is a phd in physics that worked on wallstreet for a couple years that posts on physicsforums that thinks Marx had 95% of it right. Everything but the violent revolution as a solution.

Do any of you fags really think you're smarter or know better than him?

I'm a supporter of Hegel. Marx would had done well to listen to his teacher before trying to create his own system.

"If you're wrong about one part of a system, you're probably wrong about the entire system."~Hegel, I'm paraphrasing but it's a pretty famous thing he said.

Marx left out some pretty fundamental ideas when it came to human nature when developing his system that would supersede capitalism, and that's why it never superseded capitalism.

Argument from authority is the dumbest of the "fallacies"

how is assuming that an intelligent person is more likely to correctly analyze socio economic concepts a fallacy?

Milton Friedman believes in capitalism and he's a well respected economist therefore he knows better than you that capitalism is right.

Noam Chomsky is the most quoted living author and is heralded as the greatest intellectual of all time, and he believes in libertarian socialism. He must know better than you and therefore libertarian socialism is right.

Its generally said that in order for the argument from authority to carry weight that it needs to satisfy 2 points

1) X is a legitimate expert on the subject
2) There is a consensus among legitimate experts on the matter under discussion.

ahh, so it's human nature to be alienated from the means of production & subsistence and have to live by means of a wage. good to know, if marx were alive i bet he'd be really embarrassed right now!! after all, he never once considered or wrote about human nature!

True capitalism is about creating wealth. The capitalism that we know and read about in the paper is parasitic capitalism. Pretty much the same sort of money changers that Jesus of Nazareth chased from the temple with a whip.

That's the point. Go read Kropotkin, real socialist who understand human nature shit on Marx's interpretation of economics.

And if you don't think economics has anything to do with human nature let me tell you brother, you don't know shit about either because economics has EVERYTHING to do with human nature.
