Science is a tool to provide descriptions of how reality is. You do not "believe" in that.
If OP insists on that, premise flawed, /thread.

However, there is a point:
You do not "believe" in a blade. A blade is. But you can believe whether having a blade or not beneficial or could be used for wickedness.

It's the old question: If knowing contains a risk, is it better to know or not to know?
So, is humanity able to use its knowledge about reality responsibly?

Well, technically the war in the middle east was caused of war, or at least that was one of them. All I'm saying is religion needs to be eradicated. If you're not the same religion as them, they think you're "ignorant" and "going to hell", and such. It's very surprising that in a day and age where we have so much knowledge people still take these books literally. There are a HANDFUL of good morals in religious books, but a lot of it traps people in a box type mentality, and they keep trying to justify their beliefs because they were brainwashed by their parents and society to believe in a magical faggot in the sky and that everything is laid out. Religion is really just the science of the old days. It's not like when people had no science at all they didn't fight anyway, to the OP. Animals don't understand lightbulbs or any other technology, they still kill each other. That's life. As for death, I assume while dying it's like falling asleep. And once you're fully dead you're rendered unconscious.

Poor people don't have access to good education as easily as others. It's a vicious cycle that is broken slowly, though things seem to be changing in places like the Middle East and US South.

My mom is a religious psycho and we're definitely not poor. And her parents weren't. BUT she was born in the 60's. I think religion might be wiped out in countries like the US by 2050-60. It's definitely a slow process.

And I meant countries where internet access is common. A poor kid who really wants to learn can just go to the library. The problem is that most kids dislike learning. So the poor guy will probably stay poor, unless he does amazing on his SAT's or whatever he takes nearing graduation. But almost nobody in the United States really has an excuse for being stupid, no matter what their situation is. I'd say 5% get my excuse to be a dumbfuck, while 90% have no excuse to be religious.

The thing I hate most about this argument is that nothing is so certain. It's just a pointless argument because religious people are going to stay religious. The only thing we can do is raise our kids athiests. I don't see why you have to believe in fairytales to teach good morals, why can't we just be kind to others because it will further humanity? When you treat people right the odds are they will treat you right in return.

you forget that easy access to the internet has only been available for around 10 years

its still not available in some areas of the US. i worked a contract job in jones county mississippi helping build a county-wide wireless network a few years ago. other than shitty dialup, the residents had no internet access. and the library where we installed computers was laughable (they only had room in the building for 5 stations)

but you are right that nothing is so certain, and we could keep going back and forth, but I too have shit I have to do
