Remember drawing this in highschool?

Is there any name/identity for this specific graph?

I want to mention it in an essay without talking about tangential lines to curves and all that mathy stuff.

I used to make these with string as a kid.
I think the resulting curve is a Bézier curve.

Cool thing is, they were conceived by Boole's wife. As it turns out, she was a mathematician herself, and wrote some works on math and science education. This should give some hope to you forever alone types.
