Have you ever thought about how this universe and the fact that we exist do not make any kind of sense. There are two possibilities, at least intuitively, for the universe. One, that the universe has always existed or two, that the universe came out of nothing. Both of these defy all conventional logic. If the universe is infinite then we could have never arrived at this point in time because an infinite amount of time would have had to pass to arrive here(now). If the universe arose out of nothingness (I don't mean the big bang, but the "stuff" itself that "banged" and became the universe) then what did it arise or expand into. Wouldn't the empty nothingness have to be considered something itself, bringing back the problems of infinity? Shit, basically my mind is fucking blown every time I start thinking about this, which I do fairly often. I think it shows there is something fundamental about the existence that we just don't understand and probably never will. Just my unscientific ramblings, correct me on anything fundamental that I have wrong.

Well dualism (i.e. your two possibilities) is itself completely arbitrary. So have fun with that one.

I didn't read the OP, but dualism is just as aribitrary as any other concept.

You're making the very subhuman mistake of
*Contemplating vast phenomena and being in awe of it and yet trying to dominate an understanding of it with narrow logical possibilities*''

Yes such thought is often a mental pornography that we NEED from time to time in the absence of other victories but the major point of science is "We do not know what a body can do". The problem is that people confuse this CNS porn with any actual attempts at a science and therefore a useful understanding beyond a form of pleasure circuitry in the CNS and beyond a form of social posturing (which is either compulsive, activates a form of CNS pleasure circuitry, or both).

When other subhumans rail against drugs, they fail to see their own addictions to competing in and dominating "easy simulations".

Greenness disintegrates.

If you examine anything to its logical limits, it ceases to be explainable in terms of anything that came before. Neutrons do not have a colour. A single atom has no temperature. The solidity of matter cannot be explained by atoms having little solid hooks.

In the case of the universe, there is no time before the big bang. It's like standing at the north pole - every direction is south. As well, there is no space. The universe doesn't have anything to expand into, it is making the 'thing' as it expands.
