its a disgrace to call that channel the "Science" channel. The only shows worth watching are the "How It's Made" type shows

its not called the science channel and Through the Wormhole is a science documentary

Wait, is Through the Wormhole no /sci/ approved? I enjoy that show. And when I can't get to sleep, it always does the job.

It's maximum popsci, but I'll agree with you. It is an Attenborough-tier sleepy-time doc.

So the stuff that he talks about is not accepted in the scientific community? I'm not a scientist. I'm an accounting major. I just think that science is really cool and enjoy shows like this. It would be less enjoyable knowing that he's making stuff up.

>> No.4349332

>>4349320
no, it is science. it explains the latest theories in cosmology based on science. There are several theoretical and speculative parts (the aliens episodes, string theory) but it never claims them as true.

Oh. okay. Thank you for restoring my faith in my favorite black guy and for leaving my favorite morning cereal show unscathed in my mind.

No it's accepted, it's just presented at a "my parents would understand this" level. You reach a point where the popular science is just not as compelling as it used to be, when you make a career out of this stuff (because it gets MUCH better, when you get a little deeper).
