Why do luddites exist, /sci/?

Allow me to describe my hatred of luddites.


I have approximately 11.39 billion miles of DNA in my body, in trillions of nuclei in trillion of cells in my body.

If the word "HATE" was inscribed on every string of every quark of every particle of every atom of those billions of miles of DNA, it would not equal one one BILLIONTH of the hate I feel for luddites at this single yoctosecond.

Logical yes, this makes sense... but we are emotional beings people in general don't think logically.

for instance, meat requires a lot of resources to produce, whereas hundreds of thousands of cats dogs and people are dying naturally each day, meat is protein, so why don't we eat cats dogs and people that are going to waste. it logically makes sense.

So that rapid advancement in technology seems great logically, by many people will have qualms with altering the things they are used to.

Just look at the smog in cities and climate change brought on by the use of fossil fuels before we understood their impact... But then now that we do understand their impact we just keep going.

I have a cousin who lives in the city with asthma and on hot days he can barely breathe because of the smog, and it's just getting worse and worse and nobody cares.
