Would it be possible that in case of emergency big integrated parachutes rescue falling airplanes from crashing on the ground?

> crashing

No.

> slowing down drastically the speed at which the plane crashes into land, or water

Yep.

>> No.4335981

No. But if we had integrated back-up planes, then we could definitely stop crashed.

I've got good news for you OP

Its already been done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_B--xSUxBA

>> No.4336036

What we should do is we should have smaller planes inside the big one.
If the big one starts falling the smaller ones fly out and hold it up (they're attached by cables you see)

What you should do is stfu.

Stop stealing my ideas, you cunt.

Although I admit, I wasn't too detailed with my idea, the concept of an integrated plane are still Copyrighted by TJoL Org.

But if you want, you can do plane within a plane within a plane.

A plane would be too much weight for the parachutes. Having an individual ejection seat for each passenger would be more doable. And much more entertaining when they go off.

>> No.4336068

i'd imagine the parachute would have to be impractically large to affect something like a 747

>> No.4336098

Better idea:

In the event of an emergency, all passengers pile into the middle of the plane an explosives strip off the nose, tail and wings and seal the central area
Next, the compartment is filled with an expanding shock-absorbing goo after the passengers all put on personal oxygen masks.

When the compartment crashes, specially designed failure points in the roof cause it to blow off and the chasis crumples downward. The shock is transmitted equally through the gel and expelled upwards.

the passengers, shaken but largely unharmed, are now able to free themselves from the goo and remove their masks.

They're called "ballistic parachutes", they've already experimented with and researched using them, and they're only of limited effectiveness otherwise they'd be in wide use.
