I want to get some math or science tattoos, but I can't make up my mind. What are some good ones?

store them in your thoughts and not on your skin.

I want symbols on my body that represent my passion for science and math to people who get me naked or who see me without my shirt on.

Tattoos are the mark of a moron. Don't do something you'll regret.

Because nothing says original thinker like getting a tattoo.

You should do research to represent your passion for science.

I disagree, he should do something he regrets.

You two are prejudiced idiots if you judge people for getting tattoos.

Whats the difference between prejudice and just plain ol' judgement?

Is judgement inherently wrong?

>> No.4330252

>>4330242
Prejudice—in the sense that I'm using it—does signify judgment, but it signifies judgment of low quality, i.e., irrational and arbitrary. Whether a person has a tattoo or not doesn't have much bearing on their worth as a person nor their level of intelligence and people who evaluate others over superficial things have a superficial character like the proles that they are.

Are you 14? No one who actually has a goal in life would permanently disfigure themselves just so they can have a stupid picture on their body. If you're passionate about science, be a scientist. People with science-related tattoos are worse than people that wear XKCD shirts or those shirts that say "God said -Maxwell's Equations- and THEN there was light". Tattoos are a poor decision and guaranteed to limit your job potential to food service. Grow up.

> judge people for getting tattoos
The whole POINT of getting a tattoo is to have others see it and judge you; what you're upset about is that they don't judge you the way you intended them to.

Woman logic:
> Wear deep cleavage dress
> Get upset over men staring at your boobs

Tattoo'd logic:
> Get tattoo for everyone to judge you by
> Get upset over others judging you by your tattoo

Also: you have a passion for science so deep you're willing to tattoo yourself forever for it; yet you can't think of something meaningful enough for you to use. Yeah, you sure are sincere and not just attention whoring.

Given that I think tattoos are stupid, and people with tattoos are stupid, then it logically follows that it is not irrational to judge people with tattoos as such.

Now we should argue about premises and not logic.

Tattoos are stupid. Waste of money. No purpose in having an image on skin. They represent superficial values and they need to "tell people who you are!!"

Tattoos are symbols of style (as are hats, different styles of clothes, piercings, choosing one car over another over its appearance, when you decorate your house, etcetera).

There is, in all cultures, differences in what type of style is considered better or worse. There is no universal style principle which all of humanity can use to evaluate the moral worth of one style versus another.

Therefore, judging someone's worth over whether they have tattoos or not is, effectively, the same as judging someone over whether they dress the way you want them to dress.

Since we live in a society where tattoos are relatively mainstream, I'm always surprised at the abnormal attitude of people who negatively evaluate others over getting tattoos—especially when they're presumably intelligent and enlightened.

But I guess the bottom line is that it's human nature to be whimsical and superficial in our evaluations of each other.

ENTER MISANTHROPY.
