Also how common is pic related? In our school barely anyone uses a notebook during lectures, and even then they don't really use it to take notes.

I had a PDEs lecturer that refused to do lecture notes. People weren't asking questions at all, because we were all just desperately copying down everything he said. I always take my PC to take notes. Now, I am a business stuent, so no formulas and few diagrams. But my handwriting is really shitty, and by shitty I mean that most people have trouble reading me. Comes from being left handed, and the teacher who taught me how to write was a bitch that only liked right handed people.
Anyway, even in business studies, depending on the subject, only 10 to 30% of students use laptops. And only a small minority use apple computers.

Mathfag reporting. I've yet to see anyone in any math course bring a laptop and I can understand why. For most science courses it's incredibly inefficient to be trying to take notes on a laptop. No matter how fast you type the amount of effort it'd take to organize symbols, equations and examples would be ridiculous.

The only times I've really seen people bring in their notes to class were a)Introductory Programming 1&2 which seemed logical, b)the odd non-mathematical physics course I took which was absolute shit anyway, and c)Arts courses
