If evolution is real then why haven't we evolved enough to be able to cross-species reproduce

Read about the experiments done in the Soviet Women involving women and gorillas. Shit just doesn't work that way.

The definition of a species is that you can only breed with your own kind.
Dogs can not breed with humans.

That makes no sense, it is like deciding to re-define maths so that 2 + 2 = 5.

Doubtful.

Humans and dogs are designed to grow in specific ways when they are embryos. Even if the zygote was formed, the number of errors while forming would add up. Contrary to popular belief, the womb is a horrifying place, and even making it to birth is the first hurdle every life-form must pass.

I won't say it's impossible, just because stranger things have happened. But with the improper combination of chromosomes, the chances of being born are far from likely. Dogs are designed to produce dogs. Humans are designed to produce humans. Mixing the two only makes it half-efficient at each.

So, if we start redefining speciation, organisms will somehow spontaneously become able to give birth to viable hybrids even though they couldn't under our previous definition of speciation?

What about ring species? Say species A can breed with B and D, C can breed with B and D, but A and C are not compatible, nor B and D. Are you saying an organism can simultaneously be more than one species?

It is not just unlikely, it is impossible.
Humans have 36 chromosomes, dogs have 78.
Gametes can not combine.

Our definition of "species" is flawed because there's no intrinsic difference between species - if the two species can form a viable zygote, then good for them. However, hybrids are so rare that we can define "species" as "can only reproduce within their own population" pretty solidly. There are exceptions, of course, but they are few and far in between.

Harriet's a cunt that doesn't know what she's talking about, so don't listen to her.

Also OP no, it's not possible, even Stalin couldn't get his scientists to produce ape-human hybrids for war.

>If evolution is real then why haven't we evolved enough to be able to cross-species reproduce
We did. Long ago actually. The earliest life forms were essentially a giant incestuous slurry, constantly exchanging genetic information with each other.

The reason specialization arose was because by limiting the number of genes it could carry, a life-form is granted the ability to "pick-and-choose" through a process of elimination what it needs and doesn't need to survive.

In other words, survival of the fittest is about keeping what you need and getting rid of what you don't. Cross species reproduction doesn't work in "higher" life forms because it results an overflow of unnecessary genetic information and leaves out half of the genetic information it needs.

To make a comparison, it's like you're provided with the answer key to the wrong standardized test. You'll get some of the answers right. But chances are, you're gonna fail.
