/sci/ I saw this posted here like a month ago, but I can't figure all these out.
Can someone explain 1,3,4,5, and 11 please?
also, on 5, why isn't it 1/2? From my (incredibly) limited knowledge of modulus, I would think that 7 goes into 1/2 0 times, with a remainder of 1/2, so it would be 1/2. Do mods work differently if a<1? Am I just a dumbass? The only experience I have with mods was during a one semester intro to software engineering, and that was barely anything.

>putting 6.9 instead of 7

did they really move the 7 .1 away from where it normally would be or are they just trolling?

its 6.9 repeating, which is equivalent to 7.

thanks for the link.
The wikipedia page on modulus is suprisingly unhelpful, but whatever.

oh sorry, I didn't notice the vector over the 9

More accurate, if more simple arithmetic

i think they mean -2, 1/2 mod7 makes no sense.

4.

2*4 =- 1 mod 7. Hence 4 = 2^-1.

Where =- is meant to be ghetto congruence, not a negation.

That is what I said, essentially, excepting the nastiness about grade level.

If you're going to have an attitude about the concept
that you know more than someone who is 9, shut up and grow up.

Or, put another way: people could shame you by writing one
in such a way that you couldn't solve the value even given the position on the clock face;
does that make you stupid, them smug?

Gawd, attitude shows heavily all over 4chan, huh?
