I now have £100, correct? OK.
I bought a shirt worth £97.
I now have £3 left, right? OK. I gave £1 to mum, and £1 to dad.
The remaining £1 is with me.
Now, I only owe £49 to mum and £49 to dad, correct?
Fine. Now, here's the mind twister:

£49 + £49 = £98.
I now add the £1 with me...
£49 + £49 = £98 + £1 = £99

What happened to the missing £1...?
