How can you make a meme? I never understood how memes could be a commodity, created and traded.

Not that, Richard Dawkin's memes are anything like internet memes, but the original concept was that memes were entities in themselves that kind of drifted from person to person without them being aware of it. Memes come about, but only by accident.

With that said /sci/ has a load of memes.

There is a difference between creating something funny and creating a meme.

I think on the internet, its implied a meme is humorous. But it takes on a life of its own, and I dont believe it can be deliberately created. Even a joke is not exactly, deliberately created, as no one sets out thinking "I will make a joke which will please many of my peers." instead I believe the thought process is unique, and original, perhaps reflective, like all art.
