Hey guys,

At my Uni there is a competition for which i can win a sub orbital flight ticket. (worth 90 000 dollars)

The question is: Which concept will have changed the Aerospace world in 2040?"

the concept has to be feasible.

I was thinking about anti gravity or a Heim-Dröscher engine but this was beyond my scope of physical understanding.

I also considered a ThermoNuclearFusion rocket.
This didn't seem feasible as the first working fusionplants will only be operational after 2018.

I considered recreational activities such as space diving. But this did not cover the main problems there is in space travel today.

I am now considering a laser powered plasma rocket similar to the lightcraft by Leik Myrabo.

So, any thoughts. Can sombody explain the Heim-Dröscher theory for idiots? What are the main problems in the theories mentioned in this post? Any other ideas? What do you guys think of the idea i am considering now?

You thankfully,

OP

Porn.
It shapes the world.

Science fiction is childish nonsense.
Post real science or GTFO.

I am getting better responses from /b/.

Alcubierre Drives.
FTL travel.
Actually, try Quantum Gravity.

There is no "knowledge" required for dreaming of shit that doesn't real.

By FTL travel I mean APPARENT FTL travel.

can you GTFO of this thread troll. I see threads talking about time travel and bionics receiving better treatment.

Also how is any of this science fiction? This is stuff that is being reasearched by NASA, ESA and many private research institutes.

Sonds interesting. Althoug Alcubierre drives has a severe energy problem.

I believe FTL travel is the revolution that is necessary for space travel but than again. How can i convine a jury of ingenieurs from KLM that this is possible within the next thirty years.

Quantum gravity? I'll look it up

>fic-tion
>An imaginative creation or a pretense that does not represent actuality

You are talking about shit that isn't real yet and probably won't happen in the future.
Now fuck off, this is not science.

Out of all reaction images you chose the most retarded one.
The contest is bullshit and you know it.

now you've just made it obvious that you are troll.
The competition is backed by a major airliner company an a University. My reaction face is not an issue.

I am no longer discussing this.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
Something different than FTL travel?
How do i calculate the amount of energy needed to create plasma? THe expansion reate of plasma? And the most efficent way of energy exchange?

any suggestions? I'll be right back in ten minutes

I have no idea, but I just wanted to wish you good luck. This has always been my dream, but due to financial, geographical and political reasons, this will never happen.

3D printing.

This will allow the creation of radically new aircraft which are much lighter and stronger than current ones.
