PIC NOT RELATED.

SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH.

A person has a disease that forces her to take a daily dose of drugs consisting of one pill A and one pill B. If this person does not take this dose dies, also die if she takes more or less the dose.

These are stored in separate bottles properly identified, because both pills are totally alike visually, in terms of taste, etc. .. but not the same active ingredient.

At this time this person has 10 pills (5 of A and 5 of B) and in the next five days she can not possibly get more so she can not miss any pill.

When she is going to take her daily dose makes the process so sloppy that:
She takes the bottle and takes a pill A. Then she take the B pill bottle and she pours it , only this time 2 pills came out of it and mix with the pill she had on her hand from bottle A.

Right now she has 3 pills that she can not differentiate, how to solve this problem in the right dose and not die?

This is why medication has markings on the tablets

This.
...
But assuming the pills are identical, throw the pills away and start again. There is nothing else you can do.

Also an hero because you're EK

Pick two pills at random each time. You only have about a 1/9 chance of surviving, but there's nothing else you can do without any way to tell between the pills in your hand.

>> No.4232639

I can get it down to a 2/3 chance of survival, not sure if it is possible to get it any higher.

> because both pills are totally alike visually, in terms of taste
No, they're not. Especially to avoid a situation like this.

Here's what she should do

Put the three pills aside. Take pills normally for three days. Now on the fourth day she'll be left with one A pill in the bottle and the remainder that was set aside. take all four pills, cut them in half, take half of each pill. Last day, take the remaining halves. It's not perfect, but it is efficient.

>> No.4232682

mush all the pills together and then measure out a 2 pill quantity each day

Psh. Best answer...

Put the fucking pills away and order/use fresh ones. Quit fucking playing games with your life.

(Yes, I know it's just a puzzle, but this is the best answer.)
