So I'm majoring in chemistry and I'm not sure what to minor in... Thinking of having two minors.

Any ideas?

also, pic unrelated.

two minors is smart, but check first to see if dual majors is a better option. depending on the time length and if they have a degree set up as such. what are you looking as for minor(s)? biology/health science?

>> No.4230074

math, biology, computer science and economics seem like sensible choices, depending on what do you want.

math/comp sci, bio/comp sci, math/econ, bio/econ could be good combinations I guess

OP here.

What do you guys think about English.

I say this because I might went to go into journalism sometime in the future...

I don't think journalists will exist for very much longer, with the internet and such...

If that's the case, won't journalists still exist writing online articles for sites?

All newspapers and magazines would simply become 100% digital among the rest of the competition that already is...

u serious? simple computer programs could easily write all those articles, and much more quickly.

Writing would be duller and less intriguing then ever before if we were to just use algorithms to write everything for us.

Are you actually encouraging such a possibility?

yes, I am encouraging what you might call a dry dystopia but what is actually an entropy minimizing mathematical knowledge generator

I dont see a future in journalism for you.

unless you make a biology blog

If you want more useful minors, go for biology and math. (A chem degree probably will require biochem and math courses.)

Though, IMO, an additional major would be more marketable than a double minor. I say go for applied math.

tl;dr: BS, Chemistry and Mathematics >>> BS, Chemistry (with Biology/Math/Underwater Basket-weaving minors)

Major : compile a list of majors likely to get you a job with the money/workload you want. choose the one you like the most.

Minors : what you would major in if getting a job meant nothing.

May as well double major in chemistry and biochemistry. it's only a few more courses, take one each summer.
