How is it almost 2012 and we STILL can't get a colour photograph of the moon?

It's the same reason the stars are black and white - normal cameras can't function in space because of cosmic rays and raw orgone radiation.

I thought the moon was just grey? I was looking at it earlier, and managed to snap a few photos.. the photos are in color, but the moon has hardly any color to it.

seems like the moon has had the shit smacked out of it so much at least one of those craters should be somewhat fresh.

Most of the shit that has hit the moon happened during the Late Heavy Bombardment.

After that, the system has gotten a lot sparser in impactors.
