First time post on here /sci/, I have a quick question. What the fuck is this thing? It was given to me along with some broken computer equipment. I would ask /g/, but we all know how helpful they are. I think it has something to do with robotics?

>> No.4197378

It's an input panel for some machine

>> No.4197389

>>4197378
Any idea what the machine is? Should I even bother selling it?

>> No.4197392

put it on ebay as
"strange machine"

and the most helpful person award goes to....

>> No.4197395

Oh, gee, maybe some kind of crane? Did you even look at the fucking babby graphics on it?

crane?
made me think of this (unrelated, but funny)

Numerical keypad, strange symbolic keys, big red button.
My guess is that it's the launch control for the nuclear arsenal.
I could be wrong though.

Was it given to you by aliens?

a shitty calculator made of vacuum tubes

Haha guess not, derp. So be honest, could I even sell this? Seems like most people don't even know what the fuck it is, much less what to do with it

>> No.4197421

>>4197418

Fuck it, just stick it on ebay.
There's always an idiot looking to buy useless pieces of technology.

>> No.4197429

brand new crane-thingy controller, you'll get 1500 internets for sure in ebay!

>> No.4197437

OP - there must be a panel on the device that you can unscrew.
Under that, there oughta be a serial number etc

Tell me what you find.

Looks like a robotic teach pendant.

Are you german enough to control a robot by spaceball?

Cap: setsiest cannon

>> No.4197461

If it has an USB connection, you can plug it into any Windows computer and it will automatically detect what it is and download the most up-to-date drivers.

>> No.4197473

>>4197437
I didn't find any panel or anything, but I did find a label saying ABB Robotics YB 161 100-GH. I googled it and apparently it's some part for robotics shit. No idea what it's worth though

>> No.4197497

>>4197473

It's probably not worth a lot tbh.
Give it to a charity shop and see what their reaction is.

>> No.4197503

looks like some kind of control console for some robotics, yes. look at the buttons that control the claw thing.

anyway your best bet is to find some kind of model number somewhere.
