Can God remove all forms of sin and still keep us with "free will"? Yes, verily well he could. However, it goes against the very concept of Free Will if whenever we mess up he just comes in and cleans it up for us. It's basically Free Will as long as God agrees with it.

Who says that the universe 'always was'? I know of no scientific evidence of a universe prior to the big bang. But theists apparently do--and they don't appear to need scientific evidence at all. Ancient, pre-scientific writings suffice for religionists to speculate and fabricate god(s) as they please. They don't see the need to submit anything they say to scientific verification.

Science might not answer all questions as to the origin of the universe, but at least it subjects its theories to test and intelligent criticism.
