>implying the universe isn't merely a simulation with time, distance, energy, etc all quantized by planck units because the computer running the simulation has finite memory\computing resources.

It's so fucking obvious. There are NO infinite continuities in the physical universe because they are impossible to simulate.

The universe is finite in size and you can only get finite resolution

The problem is choice.

Who's GL?

Do you think it's a coincidence every single thing we've seen about the universe is easily simulated in theory? even with our shit level intelligence and resources?

we can't. computers of races that (to us) are hyper intelligent? easily.

You'd have to find some way to test this.

It makes more sense then any other theory of existance, and it lines up perfectly with exactly what WE are doing (i.e. ability to simulate reality).

It's recursion. eventually we will be simulating universes within this universe simulation. but one can never tell how deep down the recursion chain one is

you have a great misunderstanding as to what goes on in physics.

>all quantized by planck units
o, so now we are just using things with no experimental or theoretical basis to motivate our point?

come back when you actualy know what you are talking about.

we believed the universe DID contain infinities, until we discovered QM in the early 1900s and realized that we finally hit the "pixels" of the universe if you want to think of it that way

You don't understand QM as well as you think you do.

The math behind the Turing machine running a certain program is simpler than the math behind the Standard Model.

If you believe Occam's razor kills God, you should also believe it kills the Standard Model.
