I've been reading about how to make potassium nitrate, and it says something about needing nitrogen bearing earth. Would I be able to just put ground urea in dirt and boil it to make it quickly?

If you already have urea (a lot of it) you can skip the whole dirt part. Some ground from a horse pen or a bag of fertilizer is going to have more nitrogen in it than you will piss out in a year though.

Why not just buy it?

Thanks. I know where I could get some of that.
Just for the record though, I was talking granulated urea, like in my pic, not my own piss.

If you need some horseshit, why not just read the Bible?

Isn't Potassium Nitrate the stuff that goes boom?
