Do you /sci/entists have a specific brand of pens or pencils that you prefer?

If so, which and why? Also blue or black?

I am currently really liking the Stabilo Bionic Workers (pic related)

They're neat but they're not refillable and cost $4+

G2s are the only decent, relatively-cheap pen out there. And I've tried the all.

A decent pen must...
1) Be gel ink. No exceptions.
2) Clicky. Caps are a pain in the ass.
3) Refillable
4) Under $2 per pen

Pencils are for faggots who make mistakes.

Took a programing test in pen where we had to write out a ~20 line C program. Aced that shit.

Also, the only almost-good mechanical pencil in existence is the Pentel Sharp, but it has those tiny little 5-mm wide erasers that suck ass.

>> No.4155524

Fountain pens are the way to go. I bought a cheap chinese one for like 5$ and it's working very well, writes smoothly and finely. Ink is also really cheap, a bottle for 8$ lasts forever (bought a bottle half a year ago, have been writing extremely much every day and the bottle is still 2/3 full).

Mechanical pencils ftw! (And pentel makes good shit)

>> No.4155543

For note-taking, I used to keep about 4 different colored pencils (basically like thin crayons) and whatever 0.7 mechanical pencil was handy. Oh my god, do different colors help take better notes, particularly when there are diagrams/illustrations, obviously, but even when you want different headings for the notes and whatnot.

Well, I usually have a pencil case anyways (pens, pencils including spares in case one jams / breaks during exams, eraser, spare lead) so adding an eraser to that doesn't really bother me lol.

Of course, if you only want to carry around a single pencil then I guess you might want to find another one..

I always use a black uni super ink. Quick ink flow, light pressure required, dark ink that is easy to read. They aren't the most chemically resistant though. I am planning to test out the gelly roll pens sometime.
