Thanks for stating the obvious. First of all, I've only found one or two dictionary definitions but both said slightly different things. So, I know that normally we see biallelism where two alleles exist at one locus on the chromosome, but if it's triallelic does that mean you represent the genotype as XXX (or say, XxX, or Xxx) as opposed to the typical XX? And is there another word for even more alleles at one locus?

One book said triallelism encompasses more than two alleles at one locus (so it could refer to 4 or 5 alleles at one locus), but another said it was just three. The whole point is I need a precise definition for a report I'm writing.
