Except you go to school to learn. You can be totally awesome and have good intuition about how to solve problems, but you still need to learn stuff to be able to be useful. A lot has been discovered in the last 500 years, you can't use intuition to rediscover all of it in an afternoon.

However, people who study excessively or not at all are cheating themselves not other people. You shouldn't have to study 4 hours a day to pass physics but you get so much more out of it than if you study 4 hours a semester.

math/science classes are obviously a different story - as they require the occasional practice problem and proof as opposed to rote memorization. they formulate coherent thought and reason by empirical evidence and logic in comparison to shakespearean garbage


why take 'world history' or 'theatre analysis' if all you do is memorize a fucking textbook? when neuronal implants are perfected in 20-30 years, all the countless hours you spent staring at a textbook will be destroyed.
