Oh, wikipedia is a very important part of the internet alright, but the way they ask for money is beyond ridiculous. It started with that infamous "personal appeal" from Jimmy (personal, as in "spammed to every user every time they visit the site") featuring a ridiculous faceshot. And now, these. No one who actually wants to donate will care about their appeals or their fucking faces (retarded smiles included), they'll just donate. In fine, there's no need for this, they could have just put a decent, discreet banner at the top to inform people that a donation campaign was going on, but no, they had to do that. Plus, these people *are* self-righteous pricks. I don't care about someone who has 600000 edits, most of these are probably crap about unimportant subjects, and the likelyhood of these people being deletionist scumbags is high too. That, and this campaign is the result of wikipedia's infamous meetings and votes, well known to be drama-filled and to feature ridiculously ignorant points of view.
