what would happen if i stay up for exactly 30 days with stimulants? would it be possible to think and be productive?

or will i died?

>> No.4120649

dead after 5 (with luck)

>> No.4120651

Depends on your genes. You'll probably die after 5 or so days if you don't allow your body to pass out (stimulants etc.) though.

>> No.4120656

It's not unusual for people to go for around three weeks on speed. Well, it is unusual, but not unheard of. You'll sure as shit not be productive though. Do some reading, erowid has a large library of users recorded experiences, especially on amphetamines.

I've never had anything like that

that's nothing.
just 2 days ago, I accidentally took long-acting adderall instead of the short acting version so that I could focus on schoolwork (I did actually do a lot)
but then I ended up staying up all night until morning, playing video games. I just never felt like going to bed.
The next night I stayed up until 2:00 am
that's I guess from 6 am plus a full 24hr day up until 2am, 4 hrs short of a full day. I could easily have done it again and been longer, but I am not a moron and I know it is unhealthy to do that.

thank goodness for weekends...

that's just recently...

sleep is not required to live.

sleep just allows your body to maintain equilibrium, organize thoughts, and repair itself for a sustained, short period.

however, using stimulants to stay awake for a month is not advisable because you will achieve near overdose amounts, or rather you will overdose, because only a certain amount will dissolve in your bloodstream past a point, the rest into fat.

the withdrawal from a dependency that high and for that long would not be fun, even if it was just caffeine, which by the way, is incredibly easy to overdose on.

Moron.

Sleep is essential to restore cranial neurons to healthy physiological conditions. Your brain will literally take damage if you dont sleep.

On average, people would die after 5 days of absolute zero sleep.

However, this length would be impossible to obtain without inhuman conditions. (Such as putting a human into a deep swimming pool with no way to get out)

>> No.4121157

>>4121147
Nigga, the reason you don't hear about sleep related deaths more often and hear about people dying from using drugs to stay awake is because if you're not using chemicals, your brain will force you to sleep regardless of your intentions

Insomnia kills people because it prevents the brain from "force-sleeping"

-No gasous chemical agents exists that can diffuse through the lungs in to blood, through blood-brain barrier, through glia into synapses THAT can actually keep a human without falling into sleep. Sleep cannot be controlled through chemicals for such long perios. Maybe for a 1 day maximum with caffeine, BUT with a gas and these time periods it is absolutely impossible.
-Even with hypothetical stimulants, outside physical force must be applied to disorient the person from sleeping. The pure sleep pressure cannot be resisted after a certain period.
- Said equipment did not exist in the 1940's. "Live oxygen INTAKE monitoring" Impossible without integrated circuits.
- Overwhelming visual and auditory hallucinations kick in after 2-3 days. Source said subjects were discussing calmly on even day 5.
- The list is endless...

Ps. The original article is the one making the claim and they didnt even post a source...

>> No.4121323

Absolutely not! The whole point of the set up is that the human stays awake by having to perform a continous physical task, in this case, slowly tread water.

It is impossible to sleep if you are using your muscles to perform tasks.

If he falls asleep, water entering the nose will trigger the nasal drowning reflex and you will wake up immediately and perform a cough.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Gardner_%28record_holder%29

>Randy Gardner holds the scientifically documented record for the longest period of time a human being has intentionally gone without sleep not using stimulants of any kind. In 1964—as a 17-year-old high school student in San Diego, California—Gardner stayed awake for 264 hours (eleven days), breaking the previous record of 260 hours held by Tom Rounds of Honolulu.[1] Gardner's record attempt was attended by Stanford sleep researcher Dr. William C. Dement. Gardner's health was monitored by Lt. Cmdr. John J. Ross. Accounts of Gardner's sleep-deprivation experience and medical response became widely known among the sleep research community.[2][3][4][5]

Your statement was presented as an absolute.
Had you said, "most humans die after 80 hours" my one example (which is really 2 examples, considering the guy whose record Gardner broke was also greater than 80 hours) would have meant exactly nothing.

There is no need to get so upset. Let's assume you did say most, and not all. Can you cite any legitimate sources for the claim that most people would die after 80 hours (3 and 1/3 days) without sleep? If so, please do.
