Yes, I published two articles during my masters degree, or rather, sent them in for review. One was in the top journal of my field, and the other in a mediocre journal.

Also, almost all people in the masters program publish if they're research assistants. One paper is common, two a little less. If they're just taking classes, then of course they wouldn't publish anything.

I dunno, I found it was easy to publish during my masters in chemistry.

Then again I did a project that had little to no prior literature, making results I could publish very easy to obtain. I thought might as well go where the work is. Plus too when most students went home to their mamma's on weekends/took 2 weeks off per semester for vacation, I was busy slaving in the lab 6-7 days a week.

All in all got my name on 4 papers, 1 just me and my supervisor, all of varying impact factors. I'm suppose to write a paper, just me and my supervisor, for JACS but I already got my thesis submitted and approved and I just don't give a fuck anymore.
