1+1+1+1+1+1x0

Why do some people say the answer is 5? I asked my Vector Calc professor and even he thought the answer was 5, but I'm pretty sure he had no clue what he was talking about. It's hard to believe there are people who went through all that grad school and still don't know that anything times 0 is 0. LOL. That's like 3rd grade math.

Beluga whales shouldn't get high, they should be swimming. As soon as you go back under your joint is put out by the water.

God awful trolling attempt. Back to kindergarten, OP.

Multiplication comes before. My niece who goes to kindergarten knows that.

Eh? I always got told BIDMAS-
Brackets, indices, division, multiplication, addition, subtration

You put multiplication before division?

They hold the same priority because they are the same thing. It doesn't matter what order they're in in the acronym.

No.

Consider:

3*2/4

If Division happens first, result is 6
3*(2/4) = 3*2 = 6

If Multiplication happens first, result is 1.5
(3*2)/4 = 6/4 = 1.5

M & D are not equal in priority (unlike Addition & Subtraction, as Subtraction is essentially just the addition of a negative number)

PEMDAS
Parentheses outrank exponents, which outrank multiplication and division (but multiplication and division are at the same rank). When you have a bunch of operations of the same rank, you just operate from left to right. For instance, 15 ÷ 3 × 4 is not 15 ÷ 12, but is rather 5 × 4, because, going from left to right, you get to the division first.
