Sup /sci/, taking a test to get into a community college after fucking around for awhile post-high school. I don't want you to teach me, but I'd appreciate it if anybody could name drop a few things I should definitely know, such as the quadratic formula (which I do know).

find some book and power-study through it

it all comes back pretty quick

You're welcome.

OP I was in a similar situation two years ago. Get Algebra for Dummies from the library and work problems. It does come back quickly. You want to make sure you can place high enough that you aren't wasting time taking remdial math classes....I wish I had spent more time refreshing before the placement test.

memorizing most of this (>90%) should be a good start

Rule number 1: Never memorize stuff in math.

what about trig integrals, or other strange integrals?
or "properties of determinants and matrices"

how do you define "memorize"? For example, I have memorized that the integral of A^x dx is A^x / lnA. or integration by parts, I've memorized integral(v du) = vu - integral (u dv). ther's no way to derive that every time. you memorize the chain rule, product rule, log rules, etc

By "memorizing" I mean just memorizing that this acts like that without understanding why. Obviously you'll remember certain integrals or other stuff after some time. But that's good if you understand how you got there.

>I've memorized integral(v du) = vu - integral (u dv). ther's no way to derive that every time

uv = int d(u·v) = int (u dv + v du)
