Because the only other option is fossil fuels.

And because Nuclear power is the safest energy source.

>> No.4022916

While the dangers of nuclear power are already incredibly overblown you should look into thorium pebble bed reactors, all the power, a fraction of the size, far less danger.

what about solar, wind, hydroelectric, thermal....

Check the data, nuclear power kills less people per TWh than any other power source; including solar, wind, etc.

>what about solar,
Too expensive at current rates, though maybe solar thermal, but I can't find any good numbers on that when I look. Photovoltaic is just way too bad right now, and far more polluting than nuclear.

>wind,
lol

>hydroelectric,
Not enough natural rivers to supply the demand we need.

>thermal....
Like geothermal? See hydro.

well yeah, because those other alternitives cant power shit compared to a nuclear power plant.

I know it is safer than fossil fuels though

Nuclear power has also killed fewer people in its entire 50+ years of existence than solar and wind combined in their 20+ years of existence.

Suck it greenfags.

Nuclear power is bad for the environment. I don't want my children having extra limbs. Nuclear powerplants are bad and radiation is bad. Nuclear power is dangerous, what if it blows up? I've seen the green glowing chemicals and I know they are bad and bad radiation uranium smoke coming from those big smokestacks is bad.

I have a degree in Sociology so I'm not dumb and I want to protect the environment so I'm a vegans and I'm the 99% and the 1% wants to build nuclear powerplants. Nuclear is a word that means birth defects.

Krautchan had thread today on this.

Short Story Short

>German's were called out for being faggots.
>Their half assed measures to satisfy hippies
>Their Russian oil dependence
>France having to increase reactor output to keep German grid up.
>Cold Shut Down soon to be achieved in Fukushima NPP and oh wow its fucking nothing.
