Hey /sci/ I need some help. I'm taking the SAT for the second time tomorrow and I need to bring my math score up from a 610 to a 650+.

Any tips on things I should know in order to get those extra 40-50 points?

Cheat

Honestly don't worry about it OP. My highest SAT math score was a 610 but my other scores were over 700+ and I got into the Ivy League. You'll be fine.

>> No.3999798

don't take it more than once unless you get a study guide or something. took it twice and got the same score

Apply for the test in a private test centre.

Pay a math major in college to take the exam for you. (I was paid $500)

Wait for him outside the test centre before and after the test.

Make sure he has your entry proof and identification only during the test if you feel insecure.

Make sure your ID is using an old photo (that dosnt really look like you anymore). Otherwise apply for a new ID and submit an old photo.

Make sure that you are at least the same race and about the same age as him.

Getting into ivy league schools is the hard part.

Its easy once youre in.

This is really bad advice. It's best to take the SAT at least 3 times. Even if your math score doesn't improve (my best score was the first one), your reading and writing scores will most likely increase upon future tests.

Yeah I did the same thing, but the schools and programs I am trying to get into look at the math score as the most important one.

Be smarter.

Also, I don't about where you are in math, but you can brute force some of the geometry problems if you know trigonometry. But honestly at this point just make sure you get a good night's sleep and don't stress too much. Good luck!

>Take a practice test from the Blue book every Friday for roughly a year
>The reading/writing is just instinct and learning grammar rules
>The math is PURE memorization, it's basic math. They can't think of like 60 new questions every year, they'll reuse questions with different numerals.

Did you study for it? If not, just take a practice today then get a good night's sleep

I heard of some people getting busted for that recently (except for 2 grand per test) and doing a lot of time in the pen. Even if it were 500, I don't have that kind of money laying around.

>> No.3999818

Yeah, the "sleep" part is going to be a problem. I need to print my ticket and I can't get it printed for another 2 hours because my printer's broken and my brother in law won't be off work for me to use his until then.

Busted? How? Have links?

You can make your money back once youre in by helping others get in. (after you have presumably spent some time learning college level mathematics and are sufficiently proficient)

Hey guys,i am a 11th grade student from Turkey. I am planning to take SAT in 12th grade.I can do math 700+ easily(because we're learning fucking calc 2 in 11th grade ,lol usa) and same for physics/chem,but my english is so fucking bad that i cant write a good essay.
How many points will i lose if i dont write the essay? My grammar fucking sucks,i dont even wanna try.

are you a retard?

what do you need help with? you have a CAS with trig equation solver, arithmetic (obviously), graphing, statistics, and all of high-school level algebra. all you need to worry about is high-school geometry axioms. it's so much babby math that if you can't handle it you will be murdered in uni. (assuming you're aiming for a science/engineering-related major)

it makes absolutely no sense how could could ever possibly even fathom a score below 770 on math 2. i got a 790, and almost considered retaking it. you have to have an IQ below 80 score low on math 1.

Just get somebody to take the test for you.
